Students Helping

In line with our vision of building generations of leaders who are grounded in values and global in outlook, our CCE curriculum seeks to develop students through platforms that inspire their thinking and experiences that touches their hearts. In turn, we hope that our students embody the school values and attributes of the Chung Cheng learner to become a leader with passion, integrity, humility and compassion.

The CCE curriculum is taught through our Values and Leadership Education (VLE) lessons every Tuesday. Students also develop their character through National Education (NE) events, Values in Action programmes (VIA), Co-curricular Activities (CCA) and daily interactions with their teachers and peers.

We seek to develop the following outcomes in our lower secondary students.

Commemoration of Total Defence Day	Understand the importance of Total Defence and how it can play a part in their lives.
Commemoration of International Friendship Day	Understand how communities in Southeast Asia are connected through cultural, economic and geographical ties. Learn the value of maintaining good relations with our neighbours in the region.
Commemoration of Racial Harmony Day	Understand and appreciate different races and cultures in Singapore and how they can play a part in maintaining racial harmony.
National Day Celebration	Understand Singapore’s journey in nation building. Express their hopes and dreams for Singapore through a design activity.
Values in Action Programme	Caring for the School through maintenance of the school campus developing a school song montage

Commemoration of Total Defence Day	Understand Singapore’s journey and vulnerability towards water self-sufficiency. Understand what they can do in their daily lives to conserve this resource.
Commemoration of International Friendship Day	Understand how communities in Southeast Asia are connected through cultural, economic and geographical ties. Learn the value of maintaining good relations with our neighbours in the region.
Commemoration of Racial Harmony Day	Understand and recognise their role in maintaining racial harmony among our neighbours and community.
National Day Celebration	Rediscover and appreciate the interesting facts and stories about Singapore through a race in the school campus.
Values in Action Programme	Caring for the Environment through collection of old newspapers and clothes for recycling and to raise funds for charity.

Commemoration of Racial Harmony Day	Understand the nation’s efforts in enhancing racial harmony. Recognise their role in maintaining racial harmony among our neighbours and community.
National Day Celebration	Reflect on Singapore’s nation-building journey and project a vision for the future of Singapore through a design activity.
Engagement with Alumni on NS Experience	Understand the importance of National Service and Singapore’s deterrence efforts in protecting the sovereignty of Singapore.
Values in Action Programme	Caring for the Community through planning interaction programmes and activities for the elderly. planning thoughtful gifts for the elderly during festive occasions.

Commemoration of Racial Harmony Day	Understand the nation’s efforts in enhancing racial harmony. Understand how global issues can affect Singapore’s racial harmony and not to take it for granted.
National Day Celebration	Understand the significance and contributions of our forefathers in nation building. Reflect on their commitment for the future of Singapore.
Values in Action Programme	Caring for the Society through Singapore Thong Chai Medical Institution Flag Day programme to raise funds for charity. Advocacy of a meaningful cause in Singapore’s context to their juniors.
