Direct School Admission (DSA) Exercise for 2027 Intake

We invite all current Primary Six students (or equivalent) to apply for admission for the academic year 2027 via the DSA-Sec exercise.

Before You Apply

Choose schools based on your child’s aptitudes, strengths, and the programmes available

  • Successful DSA students will not be able to participate in the S1 Posting Exercise or transfer schools after PSLE results

  • Successful DSA students must honour their commitment to the school and participate in their talent area from Sec 1 to 4

  • A DSA offer guarantees a place only if the student’s PSLE result meets our school’s minimum Posting Group 3 requirement

  • All students in our school study Higher Chinese as their Mother Tongue Language

DSA Categories and Criteria

Sports and Games: Badminton, Basketball, Netball (Girls only), Table Tennis, Volleyball, Wushu

  • Represented State, Singapore Schools, or own school with outstanding results, or
  • Achieved Top 8 in individual events at SPSSC National Schools Championships level or higher, or
  • Played a key role in team achieving Top 8 at SPSSC National Schools Championships level or higher, or
  • Attained outstanding individual achievements or standards in the specified sport

Performing Arts:

Chinese Orchestra (Gaohu, Zhonghu, Erhu, Da Ruan, Zhong Ruan, Liuqin, Pipa, Dizi, Sheng, Suona, Yangqin, Cello, Double Bass, Percussion) &

Concert Band (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Bassoon, Saxophone (Alto/Tenor/Baritone), French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Double Bass, Percussion)

  • Performed for school or established organisations at a prominent level in local or international performances, and
  • Attained outstanding individual achievements, standards, or proficiency in the specified instrument

Chinese Language

  • Strong command of Chinese in both spoken and written form
  • Offered Chinese or Higher Chinese as Mother Tongue Language
  • Performed well at AL 1–3 or equivalent for at least the past two years
  • Actively participated in Chinese Language or Chinese Cultural activities, events, or competitions

Meeting all criteria does not guarantee shortlisting or an offer.

Programmes for DSA Talents

Sports and Games, and Performing Arts

  • Directly placed into respective CCA without trials or auditions
  • Join CCA training earlier than other Sec 1 students (place in school team is merit-based)
  • Opportunities to attend CCA experiential programmes and represent the school in competitions or performances Chinese Language
  • Lower Secondary special development programmes in public speaking and creative writing
  • Offered Chinese Literature (Full or Elective) at O-Level in Upper Secondary
  • Join the Chinese Language Elective Programme (Secondary), CLEP-Sec https://www.moe.gov.sg/programmes/clep-sec
  • May apply for the CLEP scholarship if selection criteria are met
DSA Selection Process

Step 1 — Application

  • Submit application via the MOE DSA-Sec Portal at www.moe.gov.sg/dsa-sec
  • Open from 6 May 2026, 11am to 2 June 2026, 4.30pm

Step 2 — Trial or Audition (Shortlisted applicants only)

  • Sports and Performing Arts: in-person trial or audition by 10 July 2026; notified via email
  • Wushu: perform 1 Quanshu, 1 Short Weapon, and 1 Long Weapon routine (5-duan or higher), plus other required actions
  • Other Sports: play in game situations and perform sports-related skills as required
  • Chinese Orchestra and Concert Band: perform 2 contrasting pieces, total 5 to 10 minutes
  • Chinese Language: no trial or audition required; proceed directly to interview

Step 3 — Interview (Further shortlisted applicants only)

  • Sports and Performing Arts: in-person interview after trial or audition
  • Chinese Language: in-person interview with a brief written task on the day
  • All shortlisted candidates notified of interview date and time via email
Important Dates

6 May – 2 Jun 2026: Application window

7 Jul – 14 Aug 2026: Sports trials, Performing Arts auditions, and interviews

By early Sep 2026: Selection outcome notified (Confirmed Offer, Wait List, or Unsuccessful)

End Oct 2026: School Preference Submission (for applicants who received more than one offer) via DSA-Sec Portal (Singpass login required for both parents; up to 3 school preferences)

Late Nov 2026: DSA-Sec results released together with PSLE results
